DEAD MAN’S CELL PHONE by Sarah Ruhl–THEATER WORKSHOP OF NANTUCKET
“Kara M. Tyler, admirably directs “Dead Man’s Cell.” She creates a lively, engaging series of comedic scenes that are sometimes campy, sometimes hallucinatory, and always enjoyable.”
-William Ferrall, Inquirer and Mirror, Nantucket
“The Ruhl cab always stops just before pulling into realism, instead making a slow left at surreal. Director Kara M. Tyler has taken this to heart and crafted an edgy latter half of the show………Tyler has managed to fashion a fittingly hallucinogenic series of paroxysms that would make Ruhl proud.” -Sarah Teach, Yesterdays Island, Today’s Nantucket
RHEETA IN SPACE by Lynde Houck — ASSEMBLY LINE THEATER , LA FRINGE
“Assembly Line Theater is dedicated to analyzing life through risky works where nothing is sacred or off limits. Assembly Line’s talented troupe, directed by Kara M. Tyler, will bring zany spectacle to LA’s theatre scene.” ~Hollywood Fringe.org
“My director, Kara M. Tyler, took the words off the page and brilliantly put them together. I fought, she fought. I relented, she relented. Magical elements of the show, like costumes, arose. A futuristic set was built and multi-media projections were installed. Rheeta was going viral!”

CANDIDA by George Bernard Shaw -WHITE HERON THEATRE COMPANY, EDINBURGH FRINGE
“Shaw’s feminist play, from the 1890s, explores love, jealousy, belonging and relationships between and within the sexes, with men more obviously the butt of gentle ridicule, but the quirks of women – as seen by Shaw – also in the limelight. White Heron Theatre Company presents all of this with understanding, clarity and good humour, not afraid to make bold choices in acting and direction that grow from potentially irritating to satisfyingly justified and entertaining (the youth’s affectations in particular) and, if Candida’s final explanation of her life and choices is not completely relatable, this is a small lack in an otherwise highly accomplished production.” ~Edinburgh spotlight, FRINGE REVIEW – Candida, Assembly George Square
“In the case of their Candida this results in an emphasis on clarity and simplicity. Shaw’s text is intelligently edited down to an hour..” ~The Stage Edinburgh 2012
